Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (also IIT Kharagpur) is an Institute of national importance is seeking faculty recruitment (at the level of Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Professor) for its various academic units.

The institute is inviting applications from interested Indian nationals or Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) possessing excellent academic records for conducting outstanding research and development for the mentioned Departments and Centers:

Qualifications/Eligibility:

1. Ph.D. degree with Ist class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch
2. Excellent academic record throughout.

Relevant experiences

Assistant Professor: Minimum three (03) years of Industrial/Research/Teaching experience, excluding the knowledge gained while pursuing a Ph.D.

Associate Professor: Six (06) years of Teaching/Research/Industrial experience, of which at least three years be supposed to be at the level of Assistant Professor, Senior Scientific Officer,/Senior Design Engineer in premium institutes.

Professor: Ten (10) years of teaching/research/industrial experience, of which at least four years supposed to be at the level of associate Professor preferably in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai, and IISERs.

Pay Scale/renumeration

Professor: Pay scale is Rs. 37,400 - Rs. 67,000 with grade pay of Rs. 10,500.
Associate Professor: Pay scale is Rs. 37,400 - Rs. 67,000 with grade pay of Rs. 9,500.
Assistant Professor: The pay scale is Rs. 15,600 - Rs. 39,100 with grade pay of Rs. 9,500

Important note: For a fresh Ph.D., the position will be offered on a contract basis for the first three years and would be according regularized afterward. A regular appointment may be made for those with three or more years of experience (teaching/research/industrial).
